I’ve been away on Magazine Reel for so long till my readers here must have started wondering what happened to “My Perspective”! Well, I’m back, and with something worth talking about, especially if you are interested in Campus Politics. Welcome back….or should it be the other way round? Anyway…..let’s roll!
I know Comrades have already started receiving those Campaign Messages from the 2013/14 SUEU Aspirants. Those messages you guys receive might be someones intellectual property! Sometimes you receive them, once you read the first two lines, you give up because maybe you are not into Campus Politics. Hey! Maybe it’s time you paid just a little attention to them, you’ll realize that you are reading the same text from different people!
I’ll use a TEXT I received technically TWICE – same message, different senders, different missions – to illustrate the fact that SOME OF THESE ASPIRANTS ARE TECHNICAL COPYCATS WITH NOTHING TO OFFER COMRADES. These are the guys who find a fascinating quote on some website and hurriedly download them and send to Comrades in an effort to get their votes. However, this message wasn’t downloaded from an online source – try and Google. It was stolen from an aspirant by a fellow aspirant!
Sample them before I continue with my rants – aren’t they?
“Its our call as comrades to be the custodians of our own destiny. Its our call to maintain our pride as Egertonians, its us who can make it happen, lets get to the proverbial promised land smwea better than where we r nw, in which we students r the centre of power.. vote ELIJAH MATEMBO vice chairman sueu 2013/2014.b blessed as u share widely.”

Its our call to maintain our pride as Egertonians, its us who can make it happen, lets get to the proverbial promised land smwea better than where we r nw, in which we students r the centre of power.. vote ISAAK ONGOMA vice chairman sueu 2013/2014.b blessed as u share widely.
(NB=Grammatical mistakes are of the Senders of the SMSes)
Technically, SMS #1 came in first unless Safaricom were playing pranks on me! As a result, I strongly believe that the Text Message was Elijah Matembo’s intellectual property. That goes without saying that Isaak Ongoma must have played around with a competitor’s intellectual property! This is liable for punishment….but I’m sure SUEU doesn’t involve that…does it?
Therefore, as we near the electioneering period, be sure to check and counter-check the originality and authenticity of some of the manifestos you’ll be bombarded with Comrades. It’s these copy-pasting, plagiarizing and Intellectual thieves that will do nothing once in office. Take care.
Lemme know if there’s something on the SUEU Politics that needs to be addressed…you can bet on the fact that I’ll tackle whatever matter it is on “My Perspective” and you’ll surely share in it here!
